TRIKE is an Electro-Aerobic-Art-Pop duo from Canada.
Made up of Stephen Taylor (keyboard, vocals) and Xania Keane (violin, tap-dancing), this band is most happy on stage. Their live show is very theatrical, energetic and includes synchronized dancing, costume changes and spanking.
Three years ago, Trike won $20,000 on Canadian television competition “The Gong Show”. They used the money to tour across 16 European countries, performing hundreds of shows.
After 18 months of touring, Trike was robbed of all their money in Berlin. They couldn’t afford plane tickets back to Canada, so they decided to stay in Europe and work on a new album. They landed a Yamaha sponsorship, which allowed them to borrow professional recording equipment. As they set up a home-recording studio in a friend’s basement in Denmark, they were offered a record contract from Belgian label Cheap Satanism Records. Their album “Trike and the Vikings” was released in May. It received great reviews in European and North American publications, and is currently gaining popularity on US college radio. It charted in 9 cities, making it to #1 in Maine.
In 2011, Trike completed ‘Friday Songs’, a project that tested the speed of their creativity. The project required them to write and record a new song and music video every week. The videos are published on their website: http://www.trikeaband.com/
